Bank-A-Count Corporation recently partnered with River Cities Bank in Wisconsin Rapids to sponsor Community Shred Day, a benefit for the United Way of Inner Wisconsin.

Shred Day encourages community members to securely dispose of sensitive documents, such as old tax returns, bank statements, and cancelled checks.  Items brought to the River Cities Bank parking lot were securely shredded on site by Shred Safe, LLC.  The shredded paper will eventually make its way to local paper mills to be recycled for further use.

Individuals were able to dispose of up to two boxes of sensitive material free of charge.  Any additional boxes were shredded after a $5.00 donation to United Way.  Bank-A-Count Corporation and River Cities Bank donated $1.00 per pound of paper brought to be shredded, for a maximum donation of $2,000.

One of Bank-A-Count’s highest priorities is protection of sensitive information.  We work diligently to ensure our procedures are up-to-date and secure.  Proper disposal of sensitive material is important to us, and we look to encourage similar behavior throughout the community.  We hope to see you at Shred Day next year!
